Compounding can open a new range of treatment options for your practice. We welcome your questions and look forward to working with you to find the most effective formulation for each patient.
Compounding allows you to:
Create alternative dosage forms
No longer are veterinarians limited by what is commercially available. We have the technology and training to create the ideal alternative form for your client’s prescription medication. We can compound
♦ Capsules ♦ Creams ♦ Gels ♦ Ointments ♦ Pastes ♦ Solutions ♦ Suspensions ♦ Suppositories ♦ Transdermals. An alternative dosage form can help take the stress out of home health care and make medications more appealing to pets.
Change dosages & strengths
We will tailor the dosage of your prescription to match the animal’s weight and metabolism and compound it into a single dosage form. This is ideal if you are currently prescribing multiple pills to meet dosage requirements for large dogs or need smaller dosages for cats or toy breeds. This method of compounding is also useful if you are prescribing a medication typically found only in formulations and dosage strengths designed for humans.
Combine drugs or customize formulation
If you are prescribing multiple medications to treat a single condition, consider consolidating multiple prescriptions into one.
Compound discontinued drugs
Some drugs are no longer available commercially, but are still the preferred treatments of many veterinarians. We can compound these into several pet-friendly dosage forms, such as a capsule, flavored suspension, or a transdermal gel.
Add flavours
Make almost any orally-administered drug more inviting with great tastes like beef, peanut butter, chicken or tuna. Please feel free to request a flavour when you order a product.
